Zeeland Pedestrian Hurt in Car Accident
A Zeeland pedestrian was hurt in a car accident while crossing 96th Avenue north of Riley Street. Terri Stout, 15, a tenth-grader at Zeeland West High School, was hit by a van while walking to school. She was taken to Zeeland Hospital before being transferred to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
This is a tragedy and I am very sorry for this girl’s family. I hope that Terri Stout is able to make a complete recovery.
My law firm represents people who have been injured in car accidents. We frequently represent children who have been injured, and when we do, we work closely with their parents to provide their child with the best legal representation possible. It is unfortunate that, many times, parents do not realize that the law is on their side when an accident like this occurs. For instance, even though Terri Stout is too young to drive and therefore does not have her own No Fault insurance, she is eligible for No Fault insurance benefits as long as one person she lives with has a No Fault insurance policy. Moreover, her parents can pursue a lawsuit directly against a negligent driver on her behalf, as long as her injuries meet the threshold level established by the Michigan No Fault Act.
