The passenger of a minivan was killed in a Washtenaw County Fatal Car Accident in Pittsfield Township on Thursday, May 28 at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Carpenter Road.  According to police, the car accident allegedly occurred when the minivan, in which the passenger rode, attempted to turn left onto Michigan Avenue and was struck by a truck on the passenger’s side. The passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the minivan was taken to a local hospital. His condition and injuries are unknown at this time. Police continue to investigate this car accident.

Ann Arbor woman, Krystal Falcon, was seriously injured in a Washtenaw County Car Accident May 15th at the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Platt Rd. in Pittsfield Township that killed the driver, Corey Curtis. According to Michigan State Police, Curtis allegedly failed to stop for a flashing red light and struck an empty car hauler truck.  The police are still investigating the accident.  Ms. Falcon is currently hospitalized with serious non-life threatening injuries.

Two teenagers were tragically killed in a dirt-bike accident near Chelsea in Washtenaw County.  Ian Charles Hughes, 18, a student at Ann Arbor’s Stone High School, was driving the dirt-bike along with a passenger, Anna Herter, 16, a student at Chelsea High School on November 7, 2008 when the bike apparently left the road by a tight corner of Sylvan Road north of Wingate Road and crashed into several trees.  The two were discovered the next morning.

This is a very tragic accident, and I am very sorry it occurred.  I want to extend my sympathies to their families and their school communities.
