Newaygo Bus Accident | School Bus Accident Injures Children

A Newaygo school bus accident has resulted in injuries for six children.  The accident happened just before school on November 7, 2008 at the intersection of M-37 and M-82.  A truck was driving on M-37 and failed to stop for a red light.  It hit the bus when it entered the intersection.  Six children on board were transported to Gerber Hospital, where they were treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.

Thankfully, this was not a much worse accident.  Bus accidents are often very bad because buses are usually not equipped with many of the safety features that are now standard in cars.  I hope all six of the children are able to recover fully.

Even though the children are likely too young to drive or have their own car insurance, they can still make a claim for No Fault benefits under a parent’s insurance policy.  No Fault insurance will pay for their medical expenses and may pay for other benefits depending on the severity of their injuries.  I would encourage their parents to speak with an attorney before submitting their claims to ensure they are claiming all the benefits they are entitled to claim.

Gaylord Bus Accident | School Bus Rear-Ended

A Gaylord bus accident occurred when an SUV rear-ended a school bus from the Gaylord Community Schools District.  The accident took place on November 5, 2008 on Old 27 near Modesto, about a third-of-a-mile south of Charles Brink Road.  The bus was flashing its yellow lights and slowing to drop off a student when the SUV rear-ended the bus.  The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries at Ostego Memorial Hospital, while no one on the bus was hurt.

I am very sorry that accidents like this occur.  Hopefully this accident serves to remind everyone to slow down near buses and to keep a watch out for pickups and dropoffs.  I hope the injured driver has a full recovery.

Anytime a driver rear-ends another vehicle, anyone injured is eligible for Michigan No Fault benefits.  No Fault benefits will cover medical expenses and payments for household replacement services.  No Fault insurance will also pay an injured person a portion of his or her wages if he or she must miss work because of the accident.  Other benefits are also available depending on how severely a person is injured.  I always encourage accident victims to speak to a lawyer before submitting their claim to make sure they have all the necessary documents and to ensure they are submitting claims for all the benefits they are entitled to.

Calvin Township Truck Accident

A Calvin Township truck accident injured a Jones woman.  Robin Troup, 52, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Mount Zion Street and Cassopolis Road and ran into the side of a semi tractor-trailer.  She was taken to Borgess Medical Center and is listed in fair condition.  The truck driver was not hurt.

I am very sorry this accident occurred.  I hope that Robin Troup is able to have a full recovery.

In an accident like this, the first thing to do is submit a claim for Michigan No Fault insurance.  No Fault benefits will pay for medical expenses, lost wages, household replacement services, attendant care, and other benefits.  The exact amount someone gets from their No Fault insurance depends on how severely that person was injured.

Next, it will be important to determine if Robin Troup can bring a lawsuit against the truck driver or his employer.  She may be able to sue if she was seriously injured.  Whether she can sue or not depends on many circumstances including how badly she was injured and how her life has been affected by the accident.  She should speak with a lawyer to help her figure out if she has a lawsuit and to get help submitting her No Fault claim.

Allegan County Truck Accident

An Allegan County truck accident has resulted in the death of a Holland man.  The accident occurred on November 3, 2008 when Eric Galasinski, 34, was driving his pickup truck on M-40 south of M-89 in Valley Township and drifted across the centerline of the road.  He hit a semi and then crashed into a second semi.  He was not wearing his seat belt.  The two drivers of the semis suffered “very minor” injuries according to the police.

This is a very unfortunate accident and I want to extend my sympathies to the Galasinski family.  I am sure Eric Galasinski will be missed.

Even though it is not clear what caused this accident to occur, Eric Galasinski’s family can still submit a claim for Michigan No Fault insurance benefits.  These will cover his medical expenses and a portion of his lost wages as well as other benefits.  By making a No Fault survivor loss claim, the family can receive a payment to cover a portion of his funeral costs.  By speaking with a lawyer before they submit the claim, they can ensure they are submitting all the required documentation and making all of the claims they can.

Paw Paw Truck Accident | West Michigan Truck Accident Lawyers

A Paw Paw truck accident resulted in the death of a Detroit truck driver.  Omar Simmons, 34, was killed when his semi truck collided with another semi on October 31, 2008.  The accident occurred west of Paw Paw near mile marker 55 on I-94 when Omar Simmons rear-ended a semi, then swerved and lost control of his vehicle.  His truck went off the road and the steel coils he was hauling were pushed forward into the cab of the truck, killing him.  The other driver was not hurt in the accident.

This is a very tragic accident, and I am very sorry that it happened.  I want to extend my sympathies to this man’s family.

An accident like this one may be covered by either workers compensation or Michigan No Fault insurance depending on the circumstances of the accident.  The Simmons family should consult with an experienced Michigan truck accident lawyer to determine their rights in this unfortunate situation.
