There was a tragic story in the paper today about a woman killed in a fatal Detroit bus accident this morning, March 2nd, on Detroit’s west side. According to witnesses, a deaf Detroit woman, known locally as Ms. Jazz, was crossing Livernois, near Courtland, when she was hit by a City of Detroit bus being test-driven for safety. The deaf woman did not survive the accident. Police are investigating the accident at this time.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident send my most sincere condolences to the family of the deaf Detroit woman for their loss.

There was another story in the paper today about woman seriously injured in a Berrien Springs hit and run pedestrian accident on January 6th in Berrien County. According to the Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police, a 69-year-old woman was crossing Ferry Street, at North Main Street, when she was struck by a four door sedan type vehicle. The vehicle then sped away from the scene. The woman was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of her serious injuries, which include coma, a severe head injury and a broken leg. Police are seeking any information on the driver or vehicle and ask that anyone with information contact them at 269-471-2813.

There was a story in the paper today about a pedestrian killed in a fatal Orion Township hit and run accident on December 10 in Oakland County. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, a pedestrian was walking on Lapeer Road when he was allegedly hit by a large vehicle, that left the scene. Witnesses said it was a waste hauling truck, which was later found by the police. Police are still investigating this accident.

There was a story on the news about a Grand Traverse County multiple vehicle accident due to slippery conditions this morning, December 4, in Green Lake Township. According to police, a pick-up truck driver allegedly lost control due to the hazardous road conditions on US-31, near Betsie River Road, crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car. Police further state that three people came over to help the victims of the first crash when a third vehicle allegedly lost control due to the slippery conditions and hit the original crash and one of the people who had come to help. Several people sustained serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are still investigating this accident.

According to the Lapeer County Sheriff’s office, a pick-up truck, with four people, was allegedly turning left on North Branch Road, from North Lapeer Road, when they were allegedly struck by a passenger car, with two people in it. Police state several people were trying to help when a van struck the passenger vehicle and three people outside the crash that were trying to help. Eight people in total were rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries and possible life threatening injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.
