I read a tragic story in the paper today about a Fatal Upper Peninsula Motorcycle Accident near Mesick, Michigan  yesterday. According to the Wexford County Sheriff’s Department, an Arlington couple were travelling on a motorcycle on M-115, near the intersection of M-37, when a van pulling a camper allegedly turned in front of them. The bikers’ motorcycle struck the van causing serious and life threatening injuries to the bikers. The bikers were transported to Munson Medical Center where they subsequently died. Police are still investigating the accident.

I read in the paper today about a tragic Sterling Heights Motorcycle Accident that occurred in Sterling Heights last week. According to police, two bikers were seriously injured on M-59 when their bike was allegedly struck from behind by a drunk driver that failed to stop for a traffic signal. Climax-Scotts School System Superintendent Geoffrey Balkam was tragically killed in a Portage Car Accident on May 17h, which also left Portage High School Counselor Jennifer Larsen Russell with serious injuries. According to the Police, Balkam and his passenger, Russell, were riding his bike along Red Arrow Highway when Balkam lost control of his bike and were hit by a car. Both were rushed to Borgess Medical Center where Balkam subseqently died. Russell remains there in critical condition.
