Mecosta County Truck Rollover Accident

There was a story in the news today about a woman injured in a Mecosta County Truck Rollover Accident on Saturday, November 7th in Evart. According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s office, a pick-up truck driven by a woman, with a female passenger, allegedly lost control of her vehicle and went into a ditch causing both women to be ejected from it. The passenger suffered serious injuries, as did the driver. Both women were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are still investigating this accident.

I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident and hope all the injured parties have a complete and full recovery from their serious injuries.

Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of auto accident in Michigan, the injured passenger can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover her medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured party can claim these benefits even if she did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy.

In addition, the car accident injury victim may also have claims for personal injuries against any driver determined to be at fault in this auto accident. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case. In this lawsuit, the injured victim can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident. At the very least, he should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.

An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer can assist the victim with this type of claim. Accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.

Lake Township Car Accident

A Lake Township car accident has resulted in the death of an Evart woman.  She was killed when her car was struck by a car that crossed the centerline on M-55 west of LaChance Road in Missaukee County.  The mother of the deceased woman was also injured in the accident, as was the driver of the other car.  It is not clear whether alcohol was a factor and the accident is still under investigation.

This is a very tragic accident, and my sympathies go out to this woman’s family.  I hope that her mother and the other driver are able to recover quickly and completely from their injuries.

The first thing to do after any car accident is to identify the legal options for the people involved.  Although their families may be hit hard by the unexpected costs of a car accident, it is important to remember that Michigan No Fault insurance can provide significant financial assistance following a car accident.

Michigan No Fault benefits are available to everyone involved in this accident regardless of fault.  No Fault insurance will pay for the medical expenses incurred because of this accident and will provide a payment for a portion of any wages lost because of the accident.  In addition, the deceased woman’s family can get a payment for a portion of funeral costs through a survivor loss claim.  Finally, it appears the other driver was at-fault in the accident since he crossed the centerline.  If this is the case, the woman and possibly her mother will have a lawsuit against that driver for damages in excess of what is provided by their No Fault insurance.
