Chicago Woman Injured in Michigan Car Accident
A Chicago woman suffered very serious injuries in a Michigan car accident Sunday in Calhoun County, reports WOODTV. She is apparently in critical condition. The woman was a passenger in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when the driver apparently lost control and flipped the vehicle. Police are still investigating.
The injured passenger has several possible civil lawsuit claims depending on the results of the police investigation. If the police determine that the driver of the Jeep was at fault for the accident, she will have a claim for money damages against him for his negligent driving. Depending on other factors, she may also be entitled to Michigan no-fault insurance benefits which cover medical expenses, lost wages, and other benefits.
If I was the attorney handling this case, I would immediately locate and interview all eyewitnesses. My accident investigator would take statements to determine the cause of the accident. I would also determine whether injured woman qualifies for Michigan auto no-fault benefits.
