Michigan Overturned Car Accident Kills One, Injures Three
There was a tragic story in the news yesterday about a Brighton Township car accident. One man was killed in the car accident, while three other individuals suffer injuries. The accident took place on Thursday, June 3rd, at 7:30 a.m. on I-96 at Spencer Road. According to police, a car exiting from westbound I-96 to Spencer Road overturned causing the driver and two other passengers to be ejected from the car. Two of the individuals who were ejected from the car were taken to the University of Michigan Hospital, where one of them died. The passenger that was not ejected had to be removed from the car with the help of the Brighton area firefighters and suffered injuries as well. The driver suffers only minor injuries. Speed appears to be a factor in the accident.
I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident. My condolences go out to the family members of the man who was killed in the accident and wish the three other individuals recover from the accident without any permanent damages or injuries.
Our Michigan accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of Michigan car accident, the car accident victims could make a claim for Michigan no-fault benefits even if they did not own a car or have a no-fault benefit insurance policy. This includes payment of medical expenses, prescription costs, and wage and income loss benefits if there are any.
The family members of the deceased man may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services. The family members of the deceased man may also have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver that police determine was negligent and caused the accident.
Additionally, the injured victims can also make a claim for personal injuries against the negligent driver. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement.
