Adrian Hit and Run Car Accident Kills Pedestrian

An Adrian hit and run car accident has resulted in the death of a pedestrian.  The accident occurred November 28, 2008 at the intersection of Main Street and Baker Street.

This is a very tragic accident, and I want to extend my sympathies to this man’s family.

When faced with an accident like this, many families do not know what to do.  The main things they should are obtain a copy of their car insurance policies, obtain a copy of the accident report, and speak with a lawyer.  The car insurance policy will help them determine what documents are needed to support a No Fault survivor loss claim.  The police report will be necessary to prove a car accident occurred.  A lawyer can help assemble the No Fault claim and help the family decided if they can either pursue a claim for uninsured motorist insurance benefits or if they can sue the driver if that person is ever identified.

Hillsdale County Motorcycle Accident

A Hillsdale County motorcycle accident has resulted in the death of an Adrian man.  Rodney Glenn Ford was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident which occurred when his motorcycle ran off North Adams Road east of Milnes Road in Adams Township.  No other vehicles were involved.  It seems that Rodney Ford lost control of his motorcycle when it hit a driveway embarkment.

This is very sad and my sympathies go out to this man’s family.

Most motorcycle insurance policies would cover an accident like this one.  Life insurance and other policies may also exist to help support the family at this time.  A lawyer could assist them in submitting their claims.

Columbia School Bus Accident

A Columbia school bus accident injured 6 young children and two adults.  The school bus was hit in Norvell Township on M-124 near Lake Shore Drive.  The students were treated at Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh and Bixby Hospital in Adrian for non-life-threatening injuries.  The accident occurred as a driver crashed into another car stopped behind the bus.  The bus had stopped to pick up students.

It is very fortunate that none of the children or drivers were seriously injured.  Often, bus accidents can be some of the worst types of car accidents because most buses are not equipped with seat belts.  This accident serves as a reminder that drivers should pay extra attention to buses and their passengers.  No Fault benefits will cover all the children’s medical expenses and it seems like none of the other benefits available through the No Fault law will come into play because the injuries sustained are minor.

Adrian Car Accident Injures Two

The Toledo Blade reports that two people suffered serious injuries in an Adrian car accident early Monday.  The accident occurred on Forrister Road near Wilkinson Highway.  The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.  No details regarding the crash investigation were released by police but there are reports that this was a head on collision.

I hope the injured people have a full and speedy recovery and I wish them the best of health.  I represent victims of car accidents and know that even any car accident has the potential to seriously injure the people involved.

Even though there has been no determination of who is at fault, the drivers and passengers involved are entitled to No Fault benefits, which include payment of all hospital bills and medical expenses as well as additional benefits depending on the severity of each person’s injuries.  These benefits could include payment for household chores that the injured person can no longer do for himself or herself and for any care or supervision of the injured person that is required as a result of the accident.  Finally, if anyone has to miss work because of injuries suffered in this car accident, their No Fault insurance will pay benefits for their lost wages.

The injury victims may also have claims for their personal injuries suffered in the accident.  The driver who was determined to be free of fault would also have a claim against the negligent driver.
