Muskegon Heights Car Accident

A Muskegon Heights car accident has seriously injured a man.  William James Rowe, was discovered lying in the road in the early morning on February 1, 2009.  The hit and run accident occurred on Getty Street and Louis Avenue.  William Rowe suffered head injuries and was in critical condition at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

I am very sorry this accident occurred.  I cannot believe the hit and run driver would just drive off after hitting and obviously injuring another person.  I hope William Rowe pulls through and is able to recovery completely.

In a hit and run accident, many people do not know whether they have any legal rights.  Many people think they must wait until after the other driver is identified before they can file a claim with their car insurance.  This is not true, and, in fact, waiting to file can cause an accident victim to miss deadlines imposed by Michigan’s No Fault Act or by their own insurance policy.  Most insurance companies strictly enforce these deadlines and do not hesitate to completely deny a claim whenever the victim misses a deadline.  They do this because they make more money when they do not pay out claims.

If William Rowe or a family member files a claim for No Fault benefits, he can get his medical bills from this accident paid for.  He may also be able to collect lost wages and other benefits.  In addition, it is likely that he may be able to sue the hit and run driver because his injuries are very severe.  He or a family member should contact a lawyer as soon as they can to discuss this.
