According to the Michigan State Police, a 20-year-old Alma woman was driving a Jeep north on Luce when her vehicle allegedly collided collided with a 2001 Dodge Pick-up truck heading east on M-46, driven by a 32-year-old Ewell man and his female passenger. Police state she allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign because she was allegedly distracted by a cell phone.

The 20-year-old Alma woman then crossed into the westbound lane of M-46 and collided with a 1998 Oldsmobile station wagon, driven by a 52-year-old White Cloud woman. The White Cloud woman and the female passenger had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment of their serious injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.

Fatal Genoa Township Head-on Collision Accident

The woman suffered serious injuries to her knees and chest and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Howell man did not survive the crash. Police said they found an open whiskey bottle and prescription drugs but were not sure if they were a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
