Detroit Car Accident

A Detroit car accident involved 4 cars on I-75 between 8 Mile and 7 Mile Roads on November 23, 2008.  It is not clear why the accident occurred, but two of the four cars involved did roll over.  The number of people injured is not clear, but none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

I am very sorry this accident occurred.  I hope that everyone involved has a full and speedy recovery.

In an accident like this in which it is not clear who was at fault, many people think they have to wait until the investigation is finalized before they can do anything.  This is not the case.  In fact, because insurance companies often place deadlines for reporting a claim, delaying in the way can actually cause many injured people to lose all or part of their benefits.  Because Michigan No Fault benefits are available regardless of fault, there is no reason to wait for the police to determine fault.  I always encourage people to apply for No Fault benefits as soon as possible after an accident.  If someone is unsure of how to file a claim, they should speak with a lawyer who can assist them.
