Drunk Driver Injures Family In Michigan Car Accident
There was a story in the paper recently about a Tuscola County car accident. The car accident took place on Sunday, May 30th, around 2 p.m. According to the sheriff’s department, a 20 year old male was driving west on M-25 near Vassar Road when he struck another vehicle going eastbound. The vehicle going easbound was driven by a woman from Kawkawlin. In the car with the woman were three of her family members. Everyone involved in the car accident suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. Alcohol is considered to be a factor.
I am very sorry to hear about this accident and hope all of the individuals injured recover form this car accident without any permanent damages or injuries.
Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise car accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of auto accident in Michigan, the injured individuals can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover their medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured parties can claim these benefits even if they did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy.
In addition, the car accident injury victims may also have claims for personal injuries against the driver determined to be at fault. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case. In this lawsuit, the injured victims can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident.
If alcohol is considered to be factor of the negligent drivers behavior, another possible claim for anyone injured by the alleged drunk driver would be a potential Michigan dram shop case against the seller or furnisher of the alcohol before the accident. At the very least, they should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.
