Butler Township Car Accident

A Butler Township car accident has left one driver dead.  Two cars were involved in a crash on Clarendon Road north of Butler Speedway.  At least one of the cars was already on fire when the authorities arrived.  A woman driver of a van was trapped in the wreckage and killed.  A child from this car was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.  The second driver was not injured in the crash but suffered burns while trying to rescue the woman driver.

This is a very tragic accident.  My sympathies are with this woman’s family.  I hope the second driver and the child’s injuries are not severe and that they have a full recovery.

My law firm represents people who have been injured or killed in car accidents.  Many people do not realize that Michigan No Fault benefits carry survivor loss coverage, which will pay for a portion of the funeral expenses and possibly some other expenses as well.  In addition, many people do not realize that in an accident like this, the child can receive No Fault benefits even though he or she is not old enough to drive.  In fact, as long as he or she lives with someone who has a No Fault insurance policy, the child will be covered through that policy and will be able to receive payment for all medical expenses and for any care that is required after he or she is released from the hospital.  In addition, the passenger and the driver who is not at fault may have claims against the driver who is determined to be at fault depending on the severity of their injuries.
