Alpena Car Accident
An Alpena car accident has resulted in the deaths of two men. The car accident occurred on February 26, 2009 when icy roads caused a vehicle to roll over in Green Township. Roy Kraft, 32, of Spruce and James Fettes, Jr., 49, of Alpena were killed in the accident.
I am very sorry this accident occurred. I want to express my sympathies to the families of these two men for their loss.
When someone is killed in a car accident in Michigan, the person’s family should submit a No Fault survivor loss claim. Survivor loss benefits are a very important part of Michigan’s No Fault Act. Survivor loss benefits provide a family with money for a funeral and payments for loss of financial support and for loss of household services. These benefits can be of tremendous help to a family in dealing with the unexpected death of a loved one.
In addition, if the driver of the car was negligent and somehow caused or contributed to the accident, the passenger may be able to file a lawsuit against the driver or his estate. This lawsuit is really against the driver’s insurance company, since the insurance company will pay for and defend the lawsuit.
