Michigan Drunk Driving Accident Lawyers Sponsor MADD’s Life Saver Awards Program

On April 28, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel in Livonia, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Southeast Michigan chapter, held an award ceremony to honor all law enforcement officers from Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties for their arrests in drunk driving offenses. MADD is dedicated to eliminating drunk driving on our roads and highways. Our Michigan drunk driving accident lawyers were a proud Champion Sponsor of the event.

Many officers from Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties along with MADD members, survivors, and individuals who have lost a family member or friend due to a Michigan drunk driving accident attended. Hosting the ceremony was Fox 2 News anchor, Ron Savage. With over 200 people attending and Fox 2 news coverage, the Life Saver Awards ceremony turned out to be a success and showed the impact of how much our law enforcement is going beyond the call of duty to do all they can to take impaired drivers off the roadways.

Our Michigan drunk driving accident attorneys were a happy to be involved in such a ceremony and will continue to promote awareness and support for MADD’s mission. The firm is dedicated to eliminating drunk driving accidents in Michigan and specializes in representing victims of drunk driving accidents.

Kalamazoo Pedestrain Hit By A Drunk Driver

There was a story in the news today about a woman seriously injured in a Kalamazoo pedestrian car accident. The accident took place on Friday, April 16th around 11 p.m.  According to police, the 40 year old woman was struck by a car at Vine Portage Roads while walking and was transported to Bronson hospital for her injuries. The driver was beleived to be intoxicated and driving under the influence.

Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of pedestrain car accident in Michigan, the injured woman can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover their medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured parties can claim these benefits even if they did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy.

In addition, the car accident injury victim may also have claims for personal injuries against the driver if determined to be at fault in this auto pedestrian accident. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case. In this lawsuit, the injured victims can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident.

Another possible claim for anyone injured by the alleged drunk driver would be a potential Michigan dram shop case against the seller or furnisher of the alcohol before the accident. At the very least, they should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.

Kalamazoo Bicycle & Car Accident Injures Two Teens

Two 19 year old boys  were injured in a Kalamazoo car bicycle accident while riding through a stop sign on Riverview Drive on April 6th. Both boys were riding on a single bicycle with one boy on the handlebars.  One of the boys was taken to the Borgess Hospital in Bronson. He was unconsciousness and appeared to have head trauma. The other boy had noticeable injuries including fractures but was conscious.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident and hope that the two boys recover from this accident without any permanent damages or injuries.

Our Michigan accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of auto-bicycle accident in Michigan, the bicyclists could make a claim for no-fault benefits even if they did not own a car or have a no-fault benefit insurance policy.
